What is The Uglies about?

When does it take place?
The Uglies is based on 1,000's of years into the future.

What are "Uglies"?
There is an operation that almost EVERYONE gets when they turn 16 that makes you pretty. To short? They'll stretch your bones. To chubby? they suck the fat out of you, and make sure it does'nt come back. When the operation's over, you'll look in the mirror and wonder who it is. If you don't get it, you are ugly.

What are pretties?
Pretties are people who have gotten the operation.

What are Crumblies?
When you turn into an adult, you have to get a second operation that makes you pretty again.

What are Extras?
extras are pretty much nobodys. It is explained this way: "when people build whole cities for the actors to walk around in for their movies, and they'd pay hundreds of people to stand in the background."

What are Specials?
Specials are people who make the rules and design the operation. they have super speed and super strength.

What is some of the technology they have?
Hovercars- flying cars (only specials and pretties have them)
Hoverboards- pretty much flying surfboards. they only work if there is iorn around (theres an iorn grid under all citys, so they can fly in the city).
Talking inanimate objects- Like trees in the citys,bridges,roads,elevators and rooms can talk. and they take commands like "Open the closet!" it will open the closet.
Interface ring- All uglies have to wear them. there pretty much trackers. and they allow you to talk to the objects. Pretties wear them too, but they don't have to.

Anything else?
-They call us Rusties.
-The forest behind the city is called Rusty forest. They have things like old broken down buildings and broken rollercosters, and railroad tracks.
